As an immigrant, the founder, Mohamedi Pazi, experienced the challenges newcomers face when trying to integrate into Canadian society. Many lack Canadian work or volunteer experience, making it difficult to build networks, gain confidence, and showcase their skills.
At the same time, he noticed that environmental organizations often run one-time or seasonal events such as clean-ups, planting, or invasive species removals - that require dedicated and reliable volunteers. Yet, finding consistent participation remains a challenge. Organizations face no show ups and poor attendances.
This gap inspired the creation of MA Excellence Volunteering: a structured platform that bridges immigrant communities with environmental volunteering opportunities. Our initiative not only helps newcomers integrate and contribute meaningfully but also provides partner organizations with a committed pool of motivated volunteers.
